Perhaps not the sort of line one would expect to hear out of the titular character if one were as far even as three quarters into the film. Maybe not representative of the common perception of Alfie ... the cad. Still, a beautiful philosophical thought, beautifully expressed (even to the ain't), on the essential nature of beauty – and one with which I heartily agree.
